Entering STEM competitions is a great way to get recognized for your efforts and ideas, as well as earn scholarship money that will put you on the path to a very bright future. Starting on February 1, 2020, the application window opens for Broadcom Masters (Math, Applied Science, Technology, and Engineering for Rising Stars), a national middle school science, technology, engineering and math competition. In 2019, three female students from Utah were among thirty finalists selected in the national competition and ended up winning $16,000 in awards(https://www.sltrib.com/news/2019/10/30/utah-girls-win-national/). I am confident that Utah is filled with students who can be entering competitions like Broadcom Masters and making a difference in the STEM fields.
