National Engineers Week

Since 1951, National Engineers Week has been recognized in the United States by companies, organizations, and various government agencies. Each year it falls the week in February that includes February 22nd, which is George Washington’s birthday. The reason it is associated with Washington’s birthday is because he is viewed as the country’s first engineer due to the survey work he did during his life. The intent of this week is to draw attention to engineers and the important work they do for companies, communities, and societies, as well as to shine a light on the importance of STEM topics. There are many resources, programs, events, and activities in conjunction with National Engineers Week. Check out the following resources to learn more about how to get involved.
